On Monday afternoon (April 19th) I checked into the Tall Pines RV resort in Shreveport, Louisianna. It is a very nice RV park approximately ten miles from downtown. For a better view of the photos simply click on them.
On Tuesday, April 20th, my Air Force buddy (Odis Easter) from fifty years ago arrived. Odis and I attended Air Police school together at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas in the summer of 1958.
We sat around and reminisced for a couple of hours. He then gave me a tour of downtown Shreveport, and Barksdale Air Force Base. After the tour we had dinner at his favorite catfish restaurant the Catfish King of Bossier City. It was a fun afternoon and evening!
On Wednesday, April 21st I drove over to Leo and Martha Languirand's house in Shreveport. Leo and I attended Rogers High School in Newport, Rhode Island and were buddies during our junior and senior years. Sharon and I had visited Leo and Martha about ten years ago.
We reminisced all morning and had lunch at their favorite Chinese restaurant. After lunch Leo and I toured the 8th Air Force Museum at Barksdale AFB. Leo and Martha treated me to dinner at their favorite rib restaurant (sorry I cannot remember the name) and we continued embelishing our exploits well into the night. It was a very pleasurable day.
On Thursday morning, April 22nd, Odis visited with me again and gave me a nice souvenir baseball cap, some old photos that he had taken during our Air Police graduation and a photo of his family. Some very special mementos!
I pulled out of Shreveport at 11:00AM and headed for the Ozark mountains in Mountain View, Arkansas. I plan to hike there for a couple of days.

Wow I can't believe you can remember things from soooo long ago.... just kidding! :) Looks like you had a great time catching up with some old friends.
