Stopped in Santa Clarita, CA the first night (Feb 17th) and spent the night in the WalMart parking lot.  I was going to stay at the Lake Casitas Campground, but thought that $50 to sleep overnight was too much.  Actually the WalMart parking lot was very pleasant and cost nothing.  Took an hour long walk Thursday (Feb 18th) morning and hiked up the foothills in Rye Canyon overlooking Santa Clarita Valley.  Took a couple pictures at sunrise.  At about 11AM broke camp at WalMart and headed South toward San Diego.  Lucy the cat is okay, but she is not a happy camper.  She crawled under the back seat and refused to come out until I finally coaxed her out in San Diego.  For a better view of the picture just double click on it.
